BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE UNIVERSITY
The Second Faculty of Medicine of Charles University is one of the five medical faculties in the Charles University, Prague. After the split in 1953, the Faculty of Medicine was then divided into three different parts, Faculty of Paediatrics was renamed as the 2nd Faculty of Medicine in 1990. As part of the largest teaching hospital in the Czech Republic, Motol University Hospital, the faculty provides comprehensive and modern teaching methods.
Graduates acquire skills and gain a broad educational and in all branches of medicine, especially in Paediatrics.
The Second Medical Faculty of Charles University, alongside the First and Third Faculty is in Prague. The other faculties are situated in Hradec Kralove and Plzen.

The faculty has a six-year full-time study programme of general medicine for the secondary school graduates.
Graduates are handed the degree of ‘Doctor of General Medicine’ (MUDr.). The study programme for international students is quite identical compared to Czech students.
The curriculum involves theoretical subjects (first to third years) followed by clinical subjects (fourth to sixth years).
At the end of the third year, students are obliged to pass an exam in the Czech language to be able to communicate with patients and nursing staff during studies of clinical subjects.

Offered Programs / Brief Overview of Program

The Second Faculty of Medicine offers pre-graduate and post-graduate education to students, doctors and other professional staff who wants to or is working in the different fields of medicine.
Offered programs include General Medicine Study Program along with a MD programme in English for foreign students, Training in Health Care, Physiotherapy and Nursing Care – Nurse.
The entrance exams take place in Prague at the Second Faculty of Medicine. The entrance exam consists of two parts: A written multiple-choice test and an interview. If applying from outside the European Union, it is required to obtain a visa, it is recommended to attend the first entrance examination date. There is no administrative fee for the entrance exam. You do not necessarily need a recruiting agency to study at the Second Faculty of Medicine as you can just apply online through the website. Some agencies do, however, provide a reliable service.
