Study in Hungary

Country Overview
Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Ukraine and Romania to the east, Serbia and Croatia to the south, Slovenia to the southwest and Austria to the west. It is amongst 15 most popular tourist destinations in the world in the past decade, with the capital, Budapest, as one of the most picturesque in the world.

Hungary’s goal is to become a developed country but has been already established by most traditional measures including their Gross Domestic Product and Human Development Index world ranking at the 36th spot and increasing. Hungary continues to be one of the leading nations for attracting foreign direct investment in Central and Eastern Europe. Electronics manufacturing and research are among the main drivers of innovation and economic growth in the country.

Education System
Hungary welcomes international students from all over the world. The educational institutions imparting medical studies adhere to world class standards. The affordable tuition fees and relatively low entry requirements make Hungary a top choice of several students from the European Union as well as from other regions. 

Most of the Hungarian Universities are public institutions and students can study for free. Today, there are 67 higher education institutions in Hungary, ranging from small college to top research universities. Hungary has a long tradition of higher education reflecting existence of established knowledge economy. The established universities in Hungary include some of the oldest in the world. World Ranking for most Universities in Hungary are very high. English and German language is important in Hungarian higher education, there are several degree programs that are taught in these languages, which attracts thousands of exchange students every year. Duration of Study
*Bachelor’s Degree – 4 years (except for Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Veterinary studies, Architecture, Law, Teacher training and certain arts, crafts and design-related study programs which could be in the range of 4-6 years)

*Master’s Degree – 2 years


Admission Requirements
Admission requirements vary based on the course that student is applying to and also the high school or University curriculum the student is currently studying.
 
**Registered students with Gyanberry are provided with detailed admission requirements as well as comprehensive guidance on the entire admission process.


Fee Structure 
a) Minimum AED 20,000 - Maximum AED 30,000 per academic year (for engineering, business, humanities, etc.)
b) Approx. AED 40,000 - 55,000 per year for Medicine/Dentistry related courses
 
Living Expenses: Approx. AED 20,000 - AED 30,000 per academic year

Post Study Work Opportunities

  • Hungary is a middle power and has the world’s 57th largest economy by nominal Gross Domestic Product, as well as the 58th largest by PPP, out of 188 countries measured by the International Monetary Fund;
  • Employment Rate in Hungary increased to 59.20 percent in May from 58.79 percent in April of 2017;
  • There is a lot of high demand for foreign employees in the IT and Telecommunications sectors;
  • Hungary has the most stable business environments in the Balkan states, and the country has a great deal of support from global economic powers, improving the chances of success for entrepreneurs from all over the world;
  • Hungary continues to invest in the education and the viability of its middle class, providing great opportunities to companies with products that appeal to the people in the region;
  •  If you want to go to Hungary and are lucky enough to already be working for a company with operations in there, a transfer might be the easiest way;
  • Also, it is very common to be employed as a subcontractor when taking on a job in the IT sector. However, most other professions and jobs, notably management positions, come with standard​ employment conditions and benefits.
